Thunderhawk takes full advantage of the additional sprite rotation and scaling capabilities - the static shots here don't do the game justice. There are 10 operations which can be played in any order, each split into different missions which are preceded by an audio briefing and animated tactical map along with a multitude of animated cut-scenes. A radar and mini-map display the operational area (which you can't leave until the mission is completed), making targets easy to find. A CD audio rock music background adds to the in-game speech warning of missile attacks. Simple arcade controls make this game easy to pick up and play, and achieving 100% in the debrief is always challenging without being frustrating. The sequel (Firestorm) was released for the Sony Playstation, Sega Saturn and PC. | ||
Three demos are available - a Promo CD, a cover mount from issue 4 of Mega Power and a disc marked with only the Paragon Publishing logo from issue 48 of Sega Pro CD. |
